Cellulose Ethanol

What is cellulose ethanol? Talk to the Green (TTTG) has posted on this topic several times and will continue to do so. A previous post was about converting carbon based feed stock into syngas and then using microbes to produce ethanol. But there are many approaches to producing cellulose ethanol. For a good general background that is not too technical read here.

Once you have a background in cellulose ethanol take another look at the Coskata process. This report is slightly technical but it is worth the read. Has Coskata got something that leapfrogs other ethanol technologies? GM seems impressed. GM is planning it’s technology on the basis of Coskata developing inexpensive ethanol in a couple of years! Read the report here.
